The protection classes in brief
Safety shoes to EN ISO 20345 always have a protective toe cap. S1: closed heel, antistatic, energy absorption in the heel area. S1P, S1PL and S1PS: puncture-resistant as well. S3: also a water-repellent upper and a cleated sole – the standard on building sites. S5: rubber or PVC boots. S7: like S3, but the whole shoe is waterproof. Occupational shoes O1 and O6 to EN ISO 20347 have no toe cap; O6 is waterproof.

What is the difference between S3 and S7?
Both have a toe cap, puncture protection and a cleated sole. S7 shoes are also waterproof as a whole shoe – ideal in wet conditions and in winter.

Yes, many styles start at size 35, and there are women’s occupational shoes without a toe cap (O1 and O6).
